The Robinwood Difference

"Automotive Repair by People Who Care"

Honesty, Integrity and Humility. These are the three foundational principles that I put in place and have guided Robinwood Automotive since 1983. Our company culture reflects being genuine, possessing a strong moral value, and putting other’s first. The Robinwood Team does not just work for the company; they are the company; they embrace our mission of providing automotive repair by people who care. We just call it the Robinwood Way. Do we get it wrong sometimes? Yes, we do, but our guiding principles allow us to admit our mistakes and find a way to make things right. This is the Robinwood Difference!

Experience & Customer Service

Bob McGartland, Owner of Robinwood Automotive & Tire, has been in the automotive repair industry for over 40 years. Bob is an Advanced Level Master Technician with an L-1 Advanced Emissions Certification, and is an Accredited Automotive Manager with the Automotive Management Institute

He and his team have over 90 years of combined experience in the automotive repair industry.

Another Robinwood Difference is our goal to create a relationship that is built on trust with our customers. We want to educate -never to sell – and to make sure that you’re comfortable and confident in your decisions.  We’re about building long-term mutual relationships with our customers.

This is our way we approach the repair process.

  • Gather information by asking questions
  • Perform tests and inspections
  • Provide solutions
  • Make recommendations with options
  • Communicate with transparency
  • The customer is in control so they can make an informed decision on the repairs and maintenance done to their vehicle.
  • Our end goal is for our customers to have the peace of mind that their vehicle is safe and reliable when they leave the shop.

First, we ask questions to find out more about how you use the vehicle, how long you have owned it and how long you plan on keeping it. We listen to you concern, ask questions, and get the whole story of what is happening to your vehicle.  That information is listed on the repair order, so the technician has a good understanding what the concerns are too. Many times, this saves us time and you money.

The technician then uses a vast array of updated test equipment and technical resources to test, inspect, evaluate and analyze your vehicle in order to pinpoint the cause of your concern.

Included with our repair process along with your permission our technicians will use a tablet to perform a complimentary preventive maintenance vehicle inspection on your vehicle. We will inform you in order of importance, first any safety related item, second any concern that will cause progressive damage and third any maintenance related item. The technician will take pictures and videos as needed during his inspection. A professional report along with pictures is then texted or emailed to you.

Since we know some background on your vehicle, with the test and inspect results our service advisor can now inform and educate you on the overall condition of the vehicle. The customer is in the driver’s seat making the decision.

ASE Certified Technicians

Robinwood employs ASE Certified Technicians, including two Master Technicians with L-1 Advanced Emissions Certifications.

ASE Certified Technicians

An ASE Certification signifies a commitment to excellence by a technician. In order to be certified in an area, a technician must take difficult, national tests on the most current methods and models, meaning they must constantly be learning about new technologies as they are developed. ASE Certified Master Technicians must keep current certifications in eight areas: Engine Repair, Engine Performance, Electrical/Electronic Systems, Brakes, Heating and Air Conditioning, Suspension and Steering, Manual Drive Train and Axles, and Automatic Transmissions. Technicians must also re-test every five years in order to keep their certification.

AAA Approved Repair Shop

Robinwood meets the rigorous standards of the American Automobile Association

AAA Approved Repair Shop

A certified shop must meet standards for cleanliness, proper tools, adequate technical training, and appropriate technician certifications. In addition to having an impeccable repair shop, a certified facility must have a favorable opinion rating amongst its customers: AAA performs a survey of a significant number of the shop's customers and obtains their opinions "on how well the business meets their automotive service needs." The shop must score at least 90% on each question.
